FAQ

When is a booking retainer due to reserve my session?

Once we’ve picked a date (or reserved your due date for newborns), I’ll send you a payment link for the retainer. The retainer is 50% of your session total and officially holds your spot on my calendar. The remaining balance can be paid anytime before or on the day of your session — whichever feels easiest for you.

How long after our session will I get my photos?

Turnaround time depends slightly on the type and length of your session, but in most cases, your gallery will be delivered within 2 weeks of your session date. If you’re needing your photos sooner for a special reason, just let me know — I’m always happy to chat about expedited options when possible.

Can we choose the location for our session?

Absolutely! Once your session is officially booked, I’ll send over a location guide with handpicked spots to help you choose the perfect setting. If you already have a location in mind, I’d love to hear about it — we can chat and make sure it fits your vision beautifully.

How far in advance should I book my session?

I recommend booking as early as you can — especially for newborns and weekend sessions, which tend to fill up quickly. A good rule of thumb is to reach out at least 4–8 weeks in advance. That said, don’t hesitate to get in touch even if your date is sooner — if I have space, I’d love to fit you in!

What should we wear for our session?

Wardrobe is a very important part of each session — it helps bring the overall look and feel of your photos to life. I’m available to every client to offer guidance in selecting a cohesive palette of outfits for you and your family, so everything feels effortless and connected.

If you’d like styling advice or outfit recommendations, I’m always happy to help. Planning outfits (especially for yourself and a family!) can feel a little overwhelming, but I’m here to make it feel simple and even enjoyable.

And if you're considering hair and makeup, I can recommend a few trusted artists to help you feel your best. Of course, everything is optional — but just know the support is here if you’d like it.

What happens if the weather is unfavorable on the day of an outdoor shoot?

Sunny skies are always my preference — that natural light is a key part of achieving the soft, bright, and airy look you see in my work (and likely one of the reasons you chose me!). That said, I also understand that sometimes overcast days can work beautifully, depending on the session and your comfort.

If the weather isn’t ideal — whether it’s rain or heavy clouds — we’ll touch base ahead of time and decide together if we should move forward or reschedule. I always want you to feel confident and relaxed, and I’ll never rush the process. Your experience and the final images matter deeply to me.
